Siemens has opened the first phase of the Siemens Technology Center (STC) at the Garching Research Center, north of Munich. In addition to Siemens, other organizations such as the Technical University of Munich (TUM), the Max Planck Institute, and SAP have also established themselves there, totaling around 28,000 people. The Garching Research Campus is thus one of the largest centers for science, research, and education in Europe.
