Following the success of the first three Geriatronics Summits, the Munich Institute of Robotics and Machine Intelligence (MIRMI) at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) is offering the Geriatronics Summer School this July. It is aimed at master's and doctoral students in the fields of robotics, nursing sciences, nursing education and similar courses of study.
Save the date: Registration is now open via the following link.
With its workshops for young researchers, the three-day Summer School aims to bring together pioneering developments in robotics and AI with care experts in order to tackle the most pressing challenges in caring for older people. The focus here is on interdisciplinary collaboration, knowledge exchange and practical engagement in order to realize joint projects after the Summer School.
The program, which is still being finalized, offers practical instructions for care and the related robotic fields. These will be combined with thematic workshops to discuss critical issues and think about solutions in a small group. With its exclusive scientific field, which is limited to 40 participants, the Summer School offers the opportunity for close and effective exchange in order to initiate research cooperation through networking. The young scientists can be inspired by the innovative project ideas presented to develop their own solutions to improve the autonomy, dignity and quality of life of older people.
The venues are the centrally located congress center and the rooms in the Geriatronics Research Center and the Caritas Nursing School in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The Summer School is free of charge. Participants are responsible for any travel or accommodation costs incurred.
After registering, Master's and PhD students should submit a short, one-page letter of motivation explaining why they would like to take part in the Summer School. This should be sent to the e-mail address gsummit@mirmi.tum.de with a maximum length of 300 words by May 31, 2025.
The participating speakers Dr. Arash Ajoudani, Prof. Dana Kulic, Dr. Tapomayukh Battacharjee, Prof. Adriana Tapus and others to be announced wish all applicants every success.
The Summer School's cooperation partners are ENSTA Paris, Caritas, the Catholic University of Applied Sciences Munich (KSH Munich) and the Deutsches Museum.
